Overview
In April 2025, World Wide Media, one of the leading players in Uzbekistan's advertising market, launched a Telegram ad campaign in partnership with the Evido by Aitarget platform. The project was delivered for a client in the financial sector and focused on driving quality traffic to the website, as well as testing Telegram's potential as an effective and affordable advertising channel.
Why Telegram

Telegram was seen as a promising alternative to platforms such as Meta and Google, especially given its high popularity in Uzbekistan. The choice was driven by three main factors: the ability to reach the most relevant audience, flexible targeting settings, and noticeably lower ad placement costs.
Campaign execution
The campaign ran for a month and targeted a broad audience across Uzbekistan. It used a diverse set of Telegram ad formats, from quick-to-launch text ads to premium photo and video creatives. The visual formats delivered the best engagement and click-through results. This is especially critical in the financial segment, where the audience makes decisions based on trust, visual presentation, and transparency of information.
Premium formats demonstrated 2x higher efficiency compared with text ads: the cost per click (CPC) was half as much, and the click-through rate (CTR) was twice as high. These data convincingly proved that investing in visual content pays off in terms of both traffic and acquisition cost.
A key advantage of Telegram Ads was the ability to set up precise and flexible targeting. The campaign combined broad national reach with city-level geotargeting, which boosted brand visibility in economically active locations. This approach proved especially effective for a financial service aimed at an affluent audience in major cities and regional centers.
Over the course of the campaign, the agency's experts tested different types of targeting. This allowed the team to test various hypotheses quickly and adapt its approach.
- User targeting — ads were shown to users who had shown interest in topics such as finance, investment, or business, and followed them across various Telegram channels. This ensured consistent visibility among an interested audience.
- Channel targeting — ads were placed inside specific thematic Telegram channels where financial and business topics are already being discussed. This approach provided the most relevant context and reached consumers at the right moment of attention.
Results
The campaign delivered impressive results. CPM started from just €0.01, and the average CTR was 0.54%. Overall, the cost per thousand impressions and per click was more than two times lower than in similar campaigns on Meta and Google.
Premium formats became the main driver of performance, consistently outperforming text ads on all key metrics. The unique combination of broad reach and precise delivery by interest and geography made it possible to achieve strong business results at minimal cost.
